2025년 7월 12일 따뜻한 햇살 아래 레딩한글학교 학생들의 이번 학기 마지막 수업이 있었습니다.

매 해 여름학기를 마무리하며 우리 학생들과 선생님이 준비하는 책 낭독회가 올해는 조금 더 특별했습니다. 세컨더리에 다니는 정음, 세종, 아름반은 모두 함께 한명씩 돌아가며 ‘어린왕자‘를 낭독하며 그 깊은 의미를 생각해 보았고, 학부모님들도 오랜만에 듣는 내용에 귀기울였습니다. 제일 어린 누리반은, ’흥부와 놀부‘를 나누어 정성껏 낭독하고 마지막에 너무나 귀여운 깜짝 댄스를 선보여 모두를 놀라게 했습니다. 한얼반은 ’도깨비 감투‘ 이야기를 열정적인 학생들이 연극적인 요소를 추가하고 모던하게 편집하여 멋지게 발표했고, 훈민반은 우리 모두에게 가장 소중한 ‘건강‘을 주제로 창작동화인 ’골고루나라의 왕쉐프’ 를 등장인물을 나누어 맡고 여러가지 프롭을 사용하여 역할극으로 표현 했습니다. 이번엔 특별히 레딩한글학교를 격려하러 먼 걸음 해주신 전성원 교육원장님께서 책 낭독회 으뜸상 시상을 해주셨습니다.

이번 년도에는 또 한 명의 졸업생이 나온 특별한 해이기도 합니다. 이로써 레딩한글학교에서 6번째 졸업생이 탄생했습니다. 졸업생의 밝고 멋진 미래를 응원합니다!

일년에 한번, 한 해동안 모범이 되는 학생이 받는 ‘한별상’ 시상, 그리고 한해동안 봉사해주신 학부모 보조선생님들과 담임 선생님들께 깊은 감사의 마음을 전하고 서로 축하하며 레딩한글학교는 열 한 번째 되는 한해를 멋지게 마무리했습니다.

여름방학동안 훌쩍 커서 9월에 만나게 될 우리 학생들은 또 어떤 멋진 한 해를 만들어 갈지 벌써 기대가 됩니다.

< 2025 Reading Korean School End-of-Term Ceremony / Book Reading / Graduation Ceremony >

On 12th July 2025, under the warm summer sunshine, the students of Reading Korean School gathered for their final class of the term.

Each summer, we mark the end of term with a ‘book reading’ prepared by both students and teachers, and this year’s gathering was particularly special.

The secondary-level classes—Jeongeum, Sejong, and Areum—took turns reading aloud from The Little Prince, reflecting deeply on its meaning. Parents also listened attentively, enjoying the familiar story after some time.

The youngest class, Nuri, lovingly read Heungbu and Nolbu, sharing parts among themselves, and surprised everyone at the end with an adorable dance performance.

The Haneol class presented The Goblin’s Hat, giving a modern twist to the tale by adding theatrical elements, which passionate students performed with flair.

The Hunmin class focused on the theme of health, presenting an original story titled Chef King of Balancedland. Each student took on a character role and used various props to express the story as a role-play.

This year, we had a special guest: Director of the Korean Education Centre, who travelled from afar to support Reading Korean School and presented the Book Reading Excellence Award to a selected class.

This year was also a meaningful one as we celebrated another graduate—our sixth in the school’s history. We wholeheartedly wish our graduate a bright and successful future!

The school also held its annual Hanbyeol Award ceremony, recognising a student who has shown exemplary behaviour throughout the year. We took this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the parent volunteers and teachers who gave their time and effort over the past year. Together, we celebrated and concluded the 11th successful year of Reading Korean School.

We are already looking forward to seeing how our students, who will surely have grown over the summer holidays, will shape another wonderful school year when we meet again in September.
